RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assessment of drug candidates, impurities, metabolites or chemicals for their mutagenic and/or genotoxic potential in the toxicology department of the Innovation Campus Berlin
  • Constantly looking for new ways to improve performance of investigations for genetic toxicity, which are mandatory for drug candidates as study director and coordinator of experimental activities in a competitive business environment
  • Development of new screening strategies and innovative techniques in genotoxicity testing for different projects and customers
  • Inspired leader of a genetic toxicology laboratory with 4 empowered lab technicians
  • Continuously improving research support for drug discovery and drug development under consideration of national and international guidelines (e.g. AMG, OECD, CHMP, ICH)
  • Establish and maintain efficient work relationships and good contact with research teams in the company as well as with new and existing customers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Toxicologist with a PhD in Life Science or related fields
  • Profound knowledge and several years of practical experience in genetic toxicology (preferably in drug discovery and drug development)
  • Understanding of applicable regulations, quality management and GLP
  • Proven leadership experience and the ability to lead, motivate and empower a lab team
  • Expertise in use of in silico tools and statistics
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong customer-oriented mindset and cross-cultural competences
  • Team player with excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Fluent in German and English
