RESPONSIBILITIES
- The main task is the production of recombinant membrane proteins for biochemical and biophysical assays and for structure determination (X-Ray, CryoEM) in a scientific working group
o Design of expression constructs using in silico tools
o Expression of membrane proteins in different systems (mammalian, insects).
o Purification of membrane proteins.
o Reconstitution of membrane proteins in Nanoparticles (NanoDiscs, Liposomes)
o Biophysical assays with membrane protein to characterize binding of interaction partners
- Evaluation and interpretation of the data obtained, as well as their documentation and presentation
- Written and oral presentations in English for various target groups as well as creating project plans in collaboration with colleagues and customers
- Organization of your own work and the processes in the function including maintenance and further development of the infrastructure (hardware and IT) for the processing of the research projects
- Evaluation and implementation of new technologies for the optimal handling of the given tasks
